Take Wine, wine is always used as a metaphor for romance, and in love songs. “She has lips as sweet as wine”. Very romantic.

Frankly, I have tasted all sorts of wine, and none remind me of a woman’s lips, or any other part of a woman for that matter.

Besides, most red blooded American men drink beer as the beverage of choice.

I suppose a saying like, “your lips are as refreshing as a cool amber ale on a warm summer day” doesn’t cut it in the romance department.

And what about winos. Have you ever heard of beeros. I don’t think so.

Yet wine evokes romance and beer does not. This is one of the great injustices of our time.

Speaking for myself, I become very romantic after a few beers.
