For thousands of years people have prayed to all sorts of gods, deities, saints etc.

They pray for the end of sickness and disease, the end of wars and suffering, etc.

Yet, all these things persist. What gives?

If a person is sick and/or near death, everyone prays for their recovery. If the person passes away, it was gods will, if they recover, god answered their prayers.

If their prayers are answered, they are reinforced with the belief in the power of prayer. Not discouraged in the thousands of times their prayers were not answered.

THERE IS ONE COMMON THREAD I HAVE FOUND IN ALL RELIGIONS, AND THAT IS “PRAYER”. EVERYONE EVERYWHERE CALLS ON GOD OR SOMETHING SIMILAR, TO INTERVENE ON THEIR BEHALF, IN THE FORM OF PRAYER.

PRAYER IS UNIVERSAL, EVEN WITH  NON BELIEVERS.

HAS IT EVER OCCURRED TO THEM, THAT WHEN YOU PRAY, YOU ARE GOING AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD?

BY PRAYING, YOU ARE CONTRADICTING GOD. YOU WANT GOD TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT HE IS DOING.

IF THERE IS A DROUGHT, YOU PRAY FOR RAIN.

DID NOT GOD ORDAIN A DROUGHT

IF THERE IS A WAR, YOU PRAY FOR PEACE

DID NOT GOD ORDAIN A WAR

SOMEONE IS SICK, YOU PRAY FOR THEM TO GET WELL

DID NOT GOD ORDAIN A SICKNESS

IF YOU ARE POOR, YOU PRAY TO BE RICH

DID NOT GOD ORDAIN POVERTY

AND MOST PRAYERS ARE SELFISH AND SELF-SERVING.

SO BY PRAYING FOR THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT GOD HAS ORDAINED, MAYBE YOU ARE ACTUALLY PISSING HIM OFF. WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION GOD AND HIS WORKS.
